Not every fibre route goes underground. Where poles are already in place, aerial cable is often the fastest way to reach a community. In Coyah, Guinea, our teams are installing ADSS fibre optic cable to bring high-speed connectivity to the town.

What ADSS cable is

ADSS stands for all-dielectric self-supporting. The cable contains no metal, so it is safe to run near power lines, and it is strong enough to hang between poles without a separate support wire.

The installation, step by step

ADSS fibre cable deployment

Cable drums are set up at the start of each section, and the cable is paid out carefully so it is never kinked or bent beyond its limits.

Aerial cable installation

Technicians climb the poles in full fall-protection harnesses and fit the hardware that holds the cable in place.

Cable tensioning and securement

Each span is tensioned to the correct sag, then secured with fittings suited to the cable. Correct tension keeps the cable safe in wind and heat for years.

Fibre testing and verification

Before handover, the fibre is tested end to end to confirm it performs as designed.

What guides the work

  • Safety first: committed to zero harm on every site.
  • High reliability: quality installation for long-term performance.
  • Community focused: bringing high-speed connectivity to rural communities.
  • Nationwide impact: expanding digital access across Guinea.

Building the network. Connecting Guinea.
